Equine Supervisor
Suzette Byhre has lived in the local area her whole life and has always had a passion for horses, owning six of her own. During this time, she has been involved with Barron County 4-H for over 20 years, first with her two daughters, then as an adaptive therapeutic riding volunteer.
This experience then crossed over into volunteering for Nature’s Edge Therapy Center for many years. After retiring from Walmart in 2021, she became a part-time Horse Handler/Equine Specialist for Nature’s Edge. It has been an absolute joy for her to work alongside patients and therapists from the beginning to graduation, as they work to achieve their goals! To actually witness their growth and achievements along the way is nothing short of a miracle! She feels so blessed to be a small part of their mission.
Along with her part-time work at Nature’s Edge, Suzette has been involved with North Pines and the Blue Hills Mounted Search and Rescue Teams for 15 years, acting as president for the last six years and having participated in seven live searches. Along with her husband Mike and daughter Stacy, she currently coaches the Barron County 4-H Drill Team, competing at the state level the last two years.
In her spare time, Suzette loves to camp and trail ride with her family and friends.
