Courtney Losey, MS, CCC-SLP, is a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist who co-founded Nature's Edge Therapy Center with Becky Payne in 2001. Located on a 65-acre ranch, this nonprofit therapy center provides innovative speech therapy services incorporating hippotherapy, animal-assisted therapy, and horticulture therapy, ensuring access to care for patients regardless of their ability to pay.
With extensive experience spanning schools, nursing homes, and pediatric outpatient clinics, Courtney has enriched patient care for individuals of all ages and abilities. She has completed Level Two of the American Hippotherapy Association course and has advanced training in childhood apraxia of speech, including Edythe Strand’s Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) approach and PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets). Additionally, Courtney has completed Phase 1 of the Neurosequential Model of Education with Dr. Bruce Perry.
An accomplished speaker, she has co-presented at esteemed conferences such as the World Autism Conference and the Wisconsin Autism Convention, sharing her expertise in integrating hippotherapy into therapeutic sessions.
