Alexis Caneff is a sophomore at the University of Findlay, double majoring in Western Equestrian Studies and Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She is also part of the Honors Program, working toward her thesis on how different angles of the equine hind limb contribute to equine lameness. Alexis has been working with horses since she was just two years old and showed in 4-H and on the Chi-Hi Equestrian Team, where she contributed to their 11 Division A State Championships over seven years throughout middle and high school. In college, Alexis competes on the Findlay Western Equestrian IHSA team and qualified for Nationals in 2025.
She has worked at Nature's Edge Therapy Center for the past two years, balancing her time around her academic schedule. This summer, she will serve as the Barn Manager at Nature's Edge, where her responsibilities include monitoring the health of the animals, administering medications, warming up and leading horses for therapy sessions, and maintaining barn organization. Alexis looks forward to reconnecting with returning families and meeting new faces.
