At Nature's Edge Therapy Center, our specially trained therapists integrate three effective methods of treatment: Hippotherapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, and Horticulture Therapy, with the traditional treatments of Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Physical Therapy. |
Hippotherapy is a treatment involving use of the multidimensional movements of horses. Treatment takes place in a controlled setting using activities upon the horse to provide sensory input that elicits adaptive responses from the patient.
Animal Assisted Therapy utilizes animals as a part of a therapy session to accelerate progress and promote the human-animal bond.
 | Horticulture Therapy is the use of nature and gardening in a therapy session. Our center has beautifully groomed nature trails, a trout stream, duck pond, greenhouse, farmland, and woods to provide patients the opportunity to spend time with plants and animals in the natural habitats. |
Real-life activities and situations give patients a natural context for experiencing self-expression, self-confidence, personal gratification, and a sense of
achievement. |
